Major Responsibilities:

Safety & Security
- Develop appropriate security information networks for all IRC teams in Ethiopia.
- Participate in Country Senior Management discussions, offering strategic input to programs and proposals.
- Collect and disseminate relevant security information to enable effective security management.
- Advise the Country Director on contextual and security analysis to support decision-making.
- Conduct security management training and program site assessments, ensuring regular updates.

Crisis Preparedness and Response
- Coordinate with relevant departments to develop operational and programmatic contingency plans.
- Build capacity of Critical Incident Management Teams and Safety and Security Management Teams.
- Maintain up-to-date evacuation plans for international staff.
- Participate in global working groups related to Duty of Care topics.

Access/Liaison
- Build relationships with local stakeholders, formal and informal, including government authorities and armed groups.
- Develop and implement access strategies tailored to local contexts.
- Ensure humanitarian access approaches are responsive to the local context and promote community engagement.
- Compile reports on incidents, trends, and local security contexts.
Job Requirements:
- Education: University Degree
- Work Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in management roles in complex and volatile environments, preferably with INGOs.
- Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Highest moral and professional integrity
- Understanding of IRC’s work in the humanitarian context
- Ability to work under pressure in unstable security environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with security management and crisis response
- Coaching, training, and capacity-building experience
Language Skills:
Fluency in English is required.
