Position: Administrative Assistant
The Embassy of Brazil in Addis Ababa is seeking an Administrative Assistant to perform various administrative activities within the embassy. The responsibilities of this role include contracting services, verifying their execution, organizing and monitoring meetings and events, providing administrative support during employee arrivals and departures, writing and translating texts in Amharic and English, and communicating with national citizens and foreigners.
Desired additional skills and competencies:
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Completed high school studies
- Proven work experience of 3 years in secretariat, administrative, and/or human resources, preferably in international organizations, agencies, or diplomatic representations
- Proficiency in both written and spoken Amharic language
- Ability to speak and write in English
- Operating knowledge of Windows 11 and MS Office
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, flexibility, willingness to learn, and basic knowledge of mathematics
The candidate must:
- Be over 18 years of age
- Hold a high school degree
- Have fluency in both written and spoken English and Amharic
Work Contract and Salary:
3.1. The employment contract is based on a 48-hour workweek and will be valid for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal based on the employee’s performance evaluation and at the discretion of the Embassy of Brazil in Addis Ababa.
3.2. The initial gross monthly salary is ETB 36,720.00, subject to deductions as per local law.
3.3. The Embassy of Brazil in Addis Ababa will be the employer of the Administrative Assistant, and the employment does not imply any affiliation with the Brazilian Foreign Service.
3.4. The employment relationship will be governed by Ethiopian labor law, and Brazilian labor legislation will not be applied under any circumstances.
